Most common questions about the cost for therapy and mentorship
-
The Liberated Porch is not in-network with any insurance companies.
There are two primary disadvantages of being in-network with insurance companies:
Strangers in insurance companies review therapy session notes, compromising clients’ privacy.
Insurance companies decide what a client’s treatment goals can be, what treatment should be provided, and for how long therapy sessions can be offered, which removes clients’ autonomy and inhibits tailoring therapy to meet clients’ personal mental health goals.
-
The Liberated Porch offers “superbills” or clinical itemized receipts of service for clients with out-of-network benefits.
Superbills may partially cover the cost of therapy while also maintaining privacy of your mental health care.
At the end of each therapy session, you will pay for the session in full, and your therapist, Kit Morgan, LCSW, will email you a superbill.
You will upload the superbill to the members’ portal of your insurance company or send the superbill to your insurance company via post mail.
Your insurance company will send you a check or deposit for partial reimbursement of the therapy sessions.
Please check with your insurance company’s policy which is available online or over the phone about potential coverage for out-of-network therapy.

If you have out-of-network benefits with your health insurance, you may be reimbursed between 20-80% of the session cost for either short-term or long-term therapy. This depends upon your plan’s benefits.
For example, an individual therapy or sex therapy session that is $130 USD would then cost between $26 to $104 USD after reimbursement.

The duration that people stay in therapy is flexible depending upon your priorities for mental health.

Research studies show that therapy every one to two weeks yields the best results. The Liberated Porch only works with clients who are committed to weekly or biweekly therapy attendance to yield the best results for clients.
